Abercyros Cottage in Llangammarch Wells, Builth Wells

The host was very attentive; and gets extra points for the Welsh Cakes which, I won't lie, I ate most of (pretty much hiding them from the others with me). The location is nice but if you have early risers, keep in mind that the house is quite noisy with wooden floorboards and large echoey rooms (essentially if you're a light sleeper, go for the room nearer the stairs and NOT above the kitchen because my delightful friends woke me up about 6am every day just by talking and opening and closing cupboards). That being said, the rooms are comfortable with plenty of space for people; the only exception being the "games room" which - honestly - wasn't up to much. There was a kids' pool table in there which you can't play due to space, although air hockey was fun. The hot-tub was as expected (great) but, again, if you're in the room above the kitchen be sure to close your windows when the sun comes down; unfortunately I didn't and was promptly eaten alive by so many bugs (had to go out next day to get some bug spray because they essentially took the room over). Once dealt with and the window kept closed, no issues though although flies sure do enjoy coming in through the kitchen doors so again, if you're outside - be sure to keep them closed! There is a neighbour across the way but we never heard them and the home felt very secluded. There's not many stores within walking distance but Tesco delivered with zero issues and according to the host there are other companies who deliver too. Hop in the car and you're about 10-15 minutes away from another store, Burger King and various shops though so it's not too much hassle if you do need to venture out for something.For the price paid and the amount of space you get, you can't really complain. It was a relaxing break away from the city and if you're wanting "the quiet" - you get that!
