We stayed as a family of 5 for a 3 night break over the NY. The lodge was easy to find and in a beautiful stunning location. Perfect for anyone wanting to escape the business of life. Very quiet and tranquil- with only the odd vehicle to be seen or heard. The lodge was modern, clean and very spacious with 3 bathrooms- 2 with en-suite wet rooms. The main bedroom had the most stunning view overlooking the landscape. We made good use of the hot tub which was great- especially with the view. The only problem we had was the very slippery decking due to rainfall and heavy frost. This does need to be replaced or treated to reduce the risk of a serious injury. We managed to shuffle along in our flip flops so it was ok. We were provided with additional towels for the hot tub but these were quite small - would recommend taking bathrobes. The lodge was mostly well equipped but could benefit with upgrading the cutlery - especially steak knives- and an additional oven shelf. The frying pans could also be replaced. The lodge could also benefit from hooks to hang up coats and a clothes horse to dry wet clothes. There are 3 TV’s - but we only made use of the main TV. When we arrived this was unplugged and could not connect it. We eventually logged into a different WiFi and due to the weather it was not a great connection- but this was not a huge problem for us. All in all a fantastic family break for us. We would highly recommend this lodge.
