About The Bull Pens

The Bull Pens is a stunning split-level barn conversion in the quiet hills beyond Brecon and Sennybridge in the Brecon Beacons. This 5-star rated property combines two separate barns with enough communal space for everyone plus private areas when you need a break from Aunt Mabel's stories. The property sits in peaceful Welsh countryside – perfect for those who want scenery without the selfie sticks.

Located 6 miles northwest of Brecon, you're surrounded by the raw beauty of the Beacons. Days here can be spent hiking the hills, exploring local towns, or simply watching the clouds drift by from your private hot tub with a glass of something stronger than Welsh water. The night skies are so dark you can actually use the provided telescope without seeing your neighbor's security light.

The accommodation is divided into Lower and Upper Bull Pens, each with identical kitchens featuring electric ovens, slow cookers, microwaves, fridge/freezers, dishwashers and washing machines. All four bedrooms have their own bathrooms – no more morning queues or awkward encounters in towels. The property sleeps 8 comfortably across its 4 bedrooms, with one downstairs for those who find stairs challenging after a day's walking (or drinking).

Nearby, you'll find the historic town of Brecon (15 minutes), the stunning Pen y Fan mountain (25 minutes), the magnificent Henrhyd Falls (30 minutes) and the fascinating Dan-yr-Ogof caves (25 minutes). Each offers a perfect day out between hot tub sessions.

The Bull Pens is ideal for family gatherings or friends' reunions. With a games barn, children's play frame and that glorious hot tub, you might forget to actually visit the Beacons.

We spent Christmas in the Bull Pens and honestly, it was brilliant. The place is really well kept and the rooms are spacious with lovely decor, making everything feel cosy and inviting. The Christmas touches like the tree and lights added a magical vibe. We loved the wood-burning stove; it made the whole place super warm and perfect for evening board games. It's pretty remote, but still close enough to Brecon for a quick trip out. Definitely a stay we'd do again!

Our kids loved the play area - kept them entertained for ages! We also really appreciated how attentive you were, especially with our baby's needs. Honestly, our stay exceeded what we expectedand the service was top-notch. We'd definitely come back again - really lovely experience all round.

A fantastic place to stay! Just what we were after, with stunning walks right outside the door. It's pretty remote, so don't expect a pub nearby. Cosy nights in were brilliant, especially with dips in the hot tub. The night sky was simply amazing! Beds are comfy and cleanand rooms are spacious. A great weekend!
Lydia
This beautiful double cottage is perfect for 8 people! The hot tub isn't great, but the rest is just lovely. The kitchen is roomy and well equipped. We loved having a table big enough for all of us to eat together. It is really remote here. There are no takeaways or pubs around - and no phone reception! The views are amazingand the stars in the dark skies above are just awesome.
