Hill View Lodge in Heyope Reviews

The cottage is right in the middle of nowhere, down single lane farm roads, which is fine if you want a holiday away from everything. However, you cannot walk anywhere other than up and down the hills on the farm as it is so remote. The website states that there is a pub within 1 mile - there isn't. The nearest pub is 2 miles away but that is closed. This means that you have to drive at least 10 minutes if you want to eat out or get shopping (from small shops). Everything else, including larger supermarkets, is over 30 minutes drive away. Facilities: The cottage facilities were good - everything you need as a home away from home. The hot tub and pool table are great. The garden is secluded but does get dark in the evenings. Cleanliness: The cottage was fairly clean apart from the windows which were covered in cobwebs. When we entered the property, there was a horrible smell which took air fresheners and a couple of days to get rid of. We had a restful break here, but would recommend a few days rather than a week, unless you want to just spend time away from everything.
